This project is rather complex and needs some explanation in text.

The board game makes use of a link system. The positive A positive symptom is linked with another positive and negative symptom, this is also applicable for the negative symptoms but the other way around. This means that if one of the linked symptoms moves, the linked symptoms will follow the same pattern. and the negative symptoms are both linked with each other. If one positive symptom goes forward then another positive symptom mirrors that movement but also the negative symptom that is linked with the first moved positive symptom.

The board consist of two sides and the gray area. People with borderline tend to think in black and white, something is bad or good. The gray area between the two sides resembles balance. It is extremely difficult for these people to be in balance, that's also the reason why it is so difficult to get all of the symptoms in the gray area. The reason why the positive symptoms are also not in balance is,because these positive symptoms can have a negative impact on the person itself in different ways.

The goal of the game is to have each symptom, negative and positive, in the gray area. This way all of the symptoms will be in balance.

On the board you can find multiple triggers and obstructions, to make the board game even harder and more complex.

Borderline knows 9 symptoms, but because the board would become too big, I, unfortunately, had to make the choice between 6 out of the 9 symptoms. The choices of these 6 were made through the use of interviews. This means for both the negative symptoms and the positive symptoms.

The designs were made with the characteristic of the particular symptom in mind. Each name is a combination of various languages that have something to do with the symptom itself.

I'm thinking about making this an actual product, so people can make use of it in therapies or for personal use, for example. I think this could help out a lot of people, not only with their own problems but also help others understand mental disorders better.
